There are actually different variants of blackjack that are played not only in different countries but also by players and gamblers who want a little variety in their blackjack game.The blackjack variant called Spanish 21 allows players to play using very liberal blackjack rules, among these are doubling down on any number of cards. You also have the option to rescue or surrender only one wager to the house. There is also the provision to payout bonuses for five or more card 21’s, 6-7-8 21’s, 7-7-7 21’s, late surrender and player blackjacks always winning and player 21’s always winning, this with the return of the deck not having 10 cards even though there are jacks, queens and kings. If a player uses the right kind of playing strategy a Spanish 21 game will have a lower house edge compared to a regular blackjack game. Another game in a casino that is similar to blackjack is Pontoon.

Other blackjack variants are also created by changing some of the basic rules. These rule changes are designed to attract new players as well as novice layers but the rule changes are also designed to increase the house edge in the said games. For example, Double Exposure Blackjack is a blackjack variant wherein the dealer’s card are both face-up. The game increases the house edge by paying even-money on blackjacks and players losing ties. Double attack blackjack, on the other hand, has very relaxed blackjack rules and the option of increasing the wager after seeing the dealer’s up card. This particular type of game is dealt from a Spanish shoe, and even money is paid on the blackjacks and nothing else.

Chinese blackjack is played in Asia and do not split cards but allows other card combination regulations.
