Classic Blackjack Mistakes. Part 1



There are some classic mistakes that many players make when playing blackjack, especially in the heat of the moment. It is a game primarily of discipline and not just strategy. If you can keep a cool head even while the adrenalin is pumping, you will be well on your way to becoming a decent player.

So here are some classic mistakes that you will see other players make on a regular basis and you should watch out for and avoid at all cost.

Classic Mistake no.1

The first mistake that people make is playing “cowardly” and not hitting on pair of bad cards, even though the dealer has a winning first card. Let us say that the dealer has an ace, 10, 9, 8 or 7. The odds are that he will make his requirement and not go bust. And then let us assume that you are on 13,14,15 or 16. As you well know by now, you must hit! The problem is that many players get into a bad habit and think “well..maybe just this once I’ll stick and the dealer will get a small card, followed by a 10 and then bust..”

And, unfortunately, this might work at first. But over the long haul- it won’t. You may bust twenty times by taking a card, and even see the dealer bust after you, but it was still the right thing to do.

Remember. Always, always play the odds!
