The DON’TS of Blackjack (Part 2)
Just to recap the last post’s content – the first two DON’TS of blackjack are don’t just sit anywhere and don’t play as the dealer does. I am hoping that you have at least applied those tips in the past week. Today, let us look at some more things that you shouldn’t do at the blackjack table.
DON’T always expect to win. This is really a tip that applies to most any card game or gambling endeavor. It is a fact of life. We cannot always win. We cannot always get what we want. In blackjack, the house always has an edge. That is why in the long run, you will lose. It is a simple fact. Yet there are ways to lessen this house edge, increasing your chances of winning. So what I am trying to say here is to have realistic expectations when playing. This will keep you level headed and enable you to set into play your strategy that would lower the house edge and help you win more.
Unless you are that good, DON’T try to card count. Yes you read that right. We have featured posts on card counting and many other web sites have too. It seems that card counting is one of the better ways to increase your odds. However, I suggest that you do not do this unless you are an excellent card counter. Otherwise, you would be better off mastering the basic strategy and proper money management techniques.
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
