Blackjack: Women Can Be On Top
There are a lot of activities that are dominated by men, even in today’s progressive societies. Then again, women are fast catching up – even in the world of gambling. When it comes to blackjack, perhaps the most high profile players are men, but it does not mean that women cannot be on top of the game. Indeed, there are some general characteristics attributed to women that might just make them better blackjack players.
One, women are inherently better at multi-tasking.
Go to any regular office. Observe how the men and women work. How efficient is the man who needs to talk on the phone, take down notes, and chat with the boss (or a colleague) about some important matter? Chances are that he will botch one of the tasks up. Women, on the other hand, seem to be born with multi-tasking capabilities. A good blackjack player needs to be able to handle various tasks simultaneously; hence the advantage of women.
Two, women are more intuitive than men.
I have heard some women say that men have no intuition at all. Now I wouldn’t go that far, but yeah, men do tend to be lacking in this respect. Intuition may not be everything in blackjack but it can help!
Three, women are more patient than men.
Again, not to generalize but women do tend to be more patient. This is a very good virtue to have when playing blackjack, don’t you think?
Now I don’t need to tell you that by no means am I putting down male blackjack players. I am simply giving women a little boost.

I can certainly say that when I first began my blackjack training business a few years ago I had nearly 100% male clients. Nowadays about 1 out of every 5 blackjack players I work with are women. As far as card counting abilities go, men and women seem to be equally able to learn and apply the methods I teach.
One required characteristic of a great blackjack player would be self-discipline. In this area I think women may have the upper hand!
