Is Video Blackjack “Fairer” Than A Real Table Game?

If you have had the experience of playing blackjack for “real” and playing video blackjack, I bet that you have asked this question before.  No matter how much you look at it, there are differences between these games.  Some basic rules may be the same but certainly, you can find points wherein “real” blackjack and video blackjack vary.

I was actually talking about this with another friend who mentioned something about video blackjack dealing out fewer blackjacks as compared to a real table game.  How true is this?

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately in some cases, this is one point where video blackjack and a table game do not differ.  In general, video blackjack makes use of a 52 card deck – albeit virtual – and shuffles this deck randomly.  In this respect, it does not differ from a live game which makes use of a single 52 card deck.  The chances of being dealt a natural blackjack is thus the same.

So, if you are wondering whether one game is “fairer” than the other, the answer is no – at least in terms of being dealt certain cards.  So how come sometimes, people feel as if they lose more when playing video blackjack?

This could be due to the variations in the rules and payouts for different video blackjack machines.  Different machines, different casinos – they will all have their own specific set of rules so you have to know about these before playing.  In this manner, you will not feel as if you are being cheated of your money.
