American Robin Hood Gives Blackjack Winnings to the Poor

This is a story that is gaining legs.
I first heard about it from a friend who does a lot of online gambling in general, poker and blackjack in particular.
Here’s what we are hearing: an American gambler is becoming a self-proclaimed 21st-century Robin Hood; you know, the guy who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. Except that this dude is not so much stealing from the rich to give to the poor as winning it off the blackjack tables.
And then giving his winnings to the poor.
A website run by a 44-year-old blackjack player going by “Robin Hood 702″ is asking needy folks to make and send in a 3 minute video explaining why they need cash, what they’ll do with it and why Robin Hood should assist them.
When Robin Hood 702 decides to assist a family, he flies them into Las Vegas and pays for a luxury hotel stay.
He then brings the family along as he hits the Strip, sits at a blackjack table and tries to win money for his beneficiaries – up to about $48,000 in USD. Though Robin Hood doesn’t always hit the goal, he does agree to pay at least half the family’s outstanding debt even if he busts out at the tables.
Says Robin Hood, “It would be easier just to hand them money but by using my skills as a blackjack player, it means that I have earned the money by doing my job.” This everyday superhero claims he’s been making money at gambling since the age of 16 and has always had a particularly good head for strategies, particularly card counting.
To date, Robin Hood has recorded over $980,000 in money won and his website now even attracts fellow philanthropists who also seek to help families in need.
Fox News covers Robin Hood’s action when he plays for another family.
Ain’t that cool?
