Up for the Count: Part ONE. Hi-Lo Counting System Good for Beginners (or Anyone, Actually)
My friend, Matt, asked me to write about a fairly easy to understand card counting system.
Well, there are many of them.
But the one I like to use (cos it is damned easy)…is Hi Lo.
Below, I’ll explain.
The Hi-Lo blackjack card counting system, also known as the High/Low system or the Plus/Minus system, was started by a guy named Harvey Dubner.
Dubner simplified the Ten-Count system, to make it easier for players to use at an actual table.
The Hi-Lo card counting system is a card counting strategy designed for use by beginning and intermediate blackjack players. This is the easiest card counting system to learn and is generally recommended Read more

Well, no question, Marc Anthony, he of the Anthony – Jennifer Lopez union… loved to play blackjack and poker online. l
And perhaps not enough time playing with his passionate wife in the bedroom. Could that have contributed to their breakujp?
Really?

Hey, if it were me or you, wouldn’t you rather play with JLo?
I know I would. All night long.
Eventually JLo got tired of hearing about Marc’s prowess Read more

Goldfish Bowl review
In Goldfish Bowl you are given a fishing rod and the task of reeling in a list of valuable objects. There will be also lesser valued objects that need to be avoided otherwise you will run out of time to reach your points target.
The hook on your rod will swing back and forth and it is your job to release at the right moment to catch the item you want. Those looking for free online games may want to give it a try.
You are up against a one minute time limit on each level so you can’t really afford to miss too many objects. Your timing has to be just right, if you are to score well in this game.
More points are rewarded for catching the same item consecutively in Goldfish Bowl. The best strategy is to aim for the most valuable object and continue to do so to try and get the multiplier effect. This will help you get to your target quickly.
Although certain items do not carry much value, it often best to reel them in to clear them from blocking the most valuable items. For example, the tires are not worth many points but they take up a lot of room in the bowl so if you can eliminate them early, you can get to the high scoring items. Those after free games to play should bear this in mind.
The Sturgeon fish in the aquarium are different to any other items. You cannot collect these fish but if you hit them with you hook they will drop a caviar can which you can collect to gain valuable points. These fish are only around for a limited period so take advantage when they are.
There is also the option of picking up a double hook in the game. If you can collect the hook from the bowl then it will become easier to collect other items.

KNOCK OUT Card Counting…Easier on the Beginner?
A friend of mine who spends a lot of his free time in Atlantic City said recently that he was learning a card counting system called KO, or Knock Out.
He wanted to know more.
OK then. Here is more.
Most card counters… beginners I mean, probably start with balanced card counting systems such as the Hi-Lo, Hi-Opt I, and Hi-Opt II systems.
Balanced card counting systems are the ones in which if you counted down an entire deck of cards, you would end up with a count of 0.
Contrast that with unbalanced counting system, one where you will not end up with a count 0 by counting through an entire deck of cards.
Such as the KO.
The KO card counting system is one where if you counted down an entire deck of cards, you will NOT end up with a count of 0.
Basically, the KO strategy adds one extra small card to the Hi-Lo count, the 7, as a +1 value .
By using this system you will end up with a count of positive 4 if you counted down a deck of cards, because there are 4 sevens in every deck. The imbalance of this counting system is created to deliberately avoid the need to make true count conversions. The following chart shows each cards value, in the KO count:
|
2, 3, 4 , 5, 6, 7
|
Count +1
|
|
8, 9
|
Count 0
|
|
10, J, Q, K, A
|
Count -1
|
The KO card counting system was designed to make card counting slightly easier on the player.
More, next time. Just absorb, if you will, the chart above.

Blackjack cluster counting
The best way to be successful in the classic game of blackjack is doing your best to count the cards to give the best opportunity of predicting which cards will be dealt next.
This is the best way to try and reduce the edge the house has over you, whether you are playing at a casino or online.
However players have spent lifetimes trying to perfect this art, with hundreds books available on the subject and the best way to get one over on the house.
One of the most accepted ways to try and minimise the house edge is to ‘cluster count’, otherwise known as ‘shuffle tracking’.
This tactic is founded on the concept that cards tend to group in certain parts of the deck and players have the ability to a keep a track of where certain cards are positioned in the pack.
Once a shoe is finished and the cards are dealt try to keep tabs on the flow of high and low cards on the newly shuffled deck.
With cluster counting you must attempt to mentally label areas of the deck that have high and low cards to give you the advantage over the deal when it comes to hitting and sticking on your hand.
You should consider raising your bet when you believe you are about to hit a section of the deck that harbours high valued cards, and do the opposite where the lowers cards are hidden.
This should increase your chances of boosting your balance by reduce that all important house edge.
